New Delhi, 10 October 2026
CareerReform, a unit of SkillsReform Pvt Ltd, New Delhi, has been awarded by Shri Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir. The award recognises its strategic partnerships with schools and its Career Intelligence Awareness Programme. It was presented at the National Awards – School Leaders of the Year 2026, organised by the Association of Indian Principals (AIP) and powered by Macmillan Education.
CareerReform took part in the event as Skill Partner to the National School Leader of the Year Award & Summit 2026. The ceremony brought together principals, education leaders and institutional partners from across the country. Dr Chetna Sabharwal, Founder Director of SkillsReform, received the award on behalf of the team.
What the recognition covers
The award recognises two strands of CareerReform’s work with schools.
The first is its school partnership model. CareerReform works directly with school leadership teams to build career guidance into the academic year, rather than running it as a one-time event. The model spans assessment, counselling support and teacher orientation.
The second is the Career Intelligence Awareness Programme. It helps students, parents and teachers understand how aptitude, interests and cognitive strengths connect to subject choices and future pathways. The programme draws on the NCCA (Neuro Cognitive Career Architecture) Assessment, developed in-house to give schools structured, evidence-based insight into each learner’s profile.
Why it matters for schools
Career decisions in India are still often made late and with limited information. Many students choose streams in Grade 10 or 11 without a clear picture of their own abilities or the options available to them.
CareerReform’s approach moves that timeline earlier. Career conversations should begin as early as Grade 6. Structured assessment should start in Grade 8, which leaves enough time to identify gaps and address them before stream selection. This sequence builds a stronger foundation for future-ready learners. It also gives principals a practical framework they can run within their existing school structure.
Join the School Leaders Community
CareerReform runs a growing community of principals and school leaders working on career readiness, skill development and future-ready learning. If you lead a school and would like to join, write to us.
